About

Paloma David

Paloma David was born in Bogotá, Colombia. While pursuing her bachelor’s in Cultural Anthropology at the National University of Colombia she encountered the perplexing ayahuasca (yagé) tradition in her home country. Marveled by the mystery of the effects of the brew on human consciousness as well as the puzzling ritual around it, she decided to continue her studies by pursuing a Research Master’s in Religious Studies at the University of Amsterdam.

She has conducted fieldwork research on the contemporary uses of ayahuasca in rainforests, capital cities, and digital settings, as she is characterized by her qualitative research skills. Her interests include psychedelic research, the promising therapeutic use of these substances, and the current use of psychedelics in Europe and Latin America.

She is currently the head of R&D at the Amsterdam Psychedelic Research Association while collaborating with the Open Foundation in organizing the coming ICPR [video]. Likewise, she is training in gestalt therapy in Bogotá and will start training with Vital (Psychedelics Today) in psychedelic therapy and integration.

Ben Malcolm PharmD, MPH, BCPP

Ben Malcolm PharmD, MPH, BCPP

I received my bachelor’s degree (BS) in pharmacology at the University of California at Santa Barbara, prior to continuing my education with a Doctorate of Pharmacy (PharmD) and Masters in Public Health (MPH) and at Touro University California.

I completed two years of post-graduate residency training; the first in General Pharmacy Practice at Scripps Mercy Hospital and one in Psychiatric Pharmacy at University of California at San Diego Health. After residency training I began my career as an Academician at Western University of Health Sciences (WUHS), College of Pharmacy and obtained Board Certification in Psychiatric Pharmacy (BCPP).

I envision a society in which access to psychedelic drugs in a variety of safe and supported settings is available for purposes of psychospiritual well-being, personal development, ceremonial sacraments, and treatment of mental illness. To serve this vision I began a psychopharmacology consulting practice and educational website – spiritpharmacist.com – to help persons understand the interaction potential and optimal clinical approaches to psychedelic therapies when persons are taking traditional psychiatric medications.
